The Secrets of Linen, BLUE BEE STUDIO & NAPA IN THE SPRING ... A TRIFECTA!

unnamed.jpg

Tuition: $295.00 per person

Linen (Flax) has been an ever present fiber providing humans with many diverse uses for centuries. For we knitters, it’s a three season fiber promoting cool, crisp comfort, iron strength and durability and easy care. Lace motifs and easy drape are a feature in linen garments, accessories and home goods. Every knitter should love it, but often we find it a challenge, particularly if our experience has been focused on animal fiber.

Join us in Napa on Sunday May 3rd, 2020 and we will unravel the secrets of working with linen under the tutelage of Blue Bee Studio. Elizabeth Doherty’s collection includes many linen garments designed to be worn with ease and elegance. No one has explored the joys of linen more tastefully than she has, so who better to share tips and tricks with us?

We will work with Quince and Co’s Sparrow and Kestrel - pure linen yarns that represent a broad spectrum of the linen experience. We will do two small (but useful!!) projects during our day together, that will let you ‘play’ with both of these very different yarns at the Retreat while Blue Bees share the strategies you will employ to be successful in your own linen journey.

We gather at a lovely private estate in Napa, surrounded by spring in the wine country - a perfect ambiance for our linen curriculum. Arts, Crafts and Conversation has graciously partnered with Pacfic Knitting Retreats to bring you this wonderful house - and all the special touches that make any ACC class a uniquely nurturing experience.

Escape from the world and retreat to wine country in the company of knitters - and focus on creativity for the day! You will leave equipped to add linen to your summer knitting queue with confidence.
